PRELIMINARY SCHEME FOR RAID TO BE CARRIED OUT ON "Z" DAY.

1.INFORMATION.The 7TH Canadian Infantry Brigade will carry out a RAID on "Z" day.
2.INTENTION.The Royal Canadian Regiment will carry out a raid in accordance with Brigade Orders to be issued later with Objectives as laid down in B.M.R. 600 of the 1-6-1917.
3.DISTRIBUTION.On X.Y. night the Royal Canadian Regiment will move from QUARRIES Area to the Forward Area. "C" Company will take over the Front Line from approximately T.8.d.7.6. to Railway Embankment.

"D" Company will take over the Front Line from Railway Embankment to a point in the Front Line 75 yards WEST.

"B" Company will move into the 2nd Line EAST of the Railway Embankment.

"D" Company will move into the 2nd Line WEST of the Railway.

On Y.Z. night "A" Company will move up and take over the Front Line System, "C" and "D" Companies will move forward to their Jumping Off Positions. "B" Company will remain in Reserve in the 2nd Line.
4STRENGTH.Raiding Parties will be sub-divided as follows:-
"C" Company.(a)1 N.C.O., 9 Bombers.
2 Rifle Grenadiers.
6 Moppers Up.
1 Lewis Gun and Crew.
(b)1 Officer, 9 Bombers.
2 Rifle Grenadiers.
6 Moppers Up.
1 Lewis Gun and Crew.
(c)1 Officer, 9 Bombers.
2 Rifle Grenadiers.
12 Moppers Up.
1 Lewis Gun and Crew.
"D" Company.(a)1 Officer, 1 Platoon, less 2 Sections.
1 Lewis Gun and Crew.
(b)1 Officer, 1 Platoon.

5.ACTION OF RAIDING PARTY.At ZERO hour the Raiding Party will leave the Jumping Off Position.

"C" Company (Party (a)) will enter the Enemy's Trench ALCOVE and establish a Block at approximately T.2.d.3.3.

Party (b) will follow and enter Enemy's Trench AMBLE and will establish a block at T.2.d.3.6.

Party (c) will follow Party (b) and proceed along Communication Trench EAST of Railway Embankment and establish a Block at T.2.b.4. 1/2.

"D" Company (Party (a)) will assault and occupy the enemy's trench ACE from the Railway Embankment to a point about 75 yards WEST, connecting up with the 42ND Battalion R.H.C., also deal with houses at T.2.b.3.1. establishing a block at approximately T.2.b.2 1/2.2. The Parties will remain in the enemy's trenches to ZERO plus 120, when they will withdraw to our present line. This retirement will be covered by Rifle Grenadiers, Lewis Gunners and Bombers.

Covering Parties in ALCOVE and AMBLE will remain until Party (c) is clear of Junction at AMBLE and will move into the 2nd Line EAST of the Railway Embankment.
6.MOPPERS UP.Moppers up will clear Trench and Dug-outs. Stoke's Ammunitions will be used on Dug-outs and will be carried by Mopping Up Party. Sentries will be posted at Dug-out entrances.
7.BATTALION HEADQUARTERS.Battalion Headquarters will be established at T.7.d.9.5.
8.DUMP.Battalion Dump will be established at T.8.a.7.7.
9.REGIMENTAL AID POST.Battalion Aid Post will be established at approximately T.13.b.3.7 at Junction of SUPPORT and BLUE NOSE Trenches.
