SYLLABUS OF TRAINING
THE ROYAL CANADIAN REGIMENT

1917. Oct. 9th R.C.R. "A" Co. 0830 to 9.00 a.m. Physical Training.
9.00 to 10. a.m. Rifle Grenade & bombing 1 / 2 hours lectures, 1 / 2 hours throwing.
Lewis Gun & Rifle Sections - cleaning stripping, mechanism, etc.
10. to 10.30 a.m. Close Order Drill, sluting and generally smartening up.
10.30 to 11. a.m. Care of Arms.
11.00 to 12. noon Training of Platoons in combimed action of all arms, covering fire, outflanking positions, etc.
12. to 12.30 p.m. Route March.

1. Scouts and Signals carry on under own Officers arrangements.

2. All employed men will parade at 10.00 a.m., Oct 10th, for two hours inst. Under R.S.M.

3. Newly arrived Officers and reinforcements parade daily for special instruction 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 a.m.

4. Particular attention paid to training of Lewis Gunners. New men must be selected to fill vacancies.

5. Practice on ranges in Musketry will be allotted if ranges are available.

6. Lectures and conferences will be held on rainy days.

7. An inter Co. syllabus of sports will be carried out during afternoons at which the Band will play.

9.00 to 9.30 a.m. Inspection Box Respirators and P.H. Helmets, 15 minutes to be spent in marching or drill with Respirators on.
9.30 to 10.30 a.m. Rifle Grenade and Bombing Sections - Lectures and Bombing up Trench.
Lewis Gun and Rifle Sections - Mutual Lectures in sections and by new men on mechanism, stoppages, etc.
10.30 to 11. a.m. Close Order Drill.
11.00 to 11.30 a.m. Preliminary Musketry.
11.30 to 12. noon. Route March.

Oct. 11th R.C.R. "A" Co. 0830 to 9.00 a.m. Physical Training.
9.00 to 9.45 a.m. Open order fighting, Specialist training.
