William Louis Barrett-Lennard was born in 1893.1 He was the son of William Barrett-Lennard and Laura Sophia Johnson. He married Agnes Mildred Dowsett, daughter of Nathaniel Dowsett, in 1920. William Louis Barrett-Lennard fought in the First World War, where he was wounded. He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Canadian Infantry.
