War of 1812 Honorary Distinction (non-emblazonable) - In 2012 the Canadian Goverment decided to award the right of perpetuation of War of 1812 Honours to current units of the Canadian Army. Les Fusiliers Mont-Royal was awarded the non-emblazonable Honorary Distinction Defence of Canada – 1812-1815 – Défense de Canada in perpetuation of the actions of the following War of 1812 units of the pre-Confederation Militia:
